Many years ago, several prominent experts declared that the Finger Lakes terroir (our soil, climate and other factors) would never produce a good red wine. Well, let's call it the 30-year overnight success! Here we are, with a variety of reds that we're proud for you to try.
Our approach at Keuka Spring has been to adapt our growing and winemaking processes to be harmonious with the natural proclivities of our red grape varieties. Several years ago we shifted our fermentation of our red wines from oak barrels to tanks. The results are reds with softer tannins and a rounder mouthfeel that we believe beautifully balance the wines' natural fruit aromas and flavors. We're delighted that our customers have embraced this change!
The Cabernet Franc grape grows happily in our cool Finger Lakes climate and glacial soil. This beautiful varietal is dry and smooth, with hints of cherries, soft tannins and a little light pepperiness in the finish.
Pairing ideas: Peppery or barbecued beef; lamb cooked in herbs; goat cheese quiche. Serve at cool room temperature.

Clara's Red is a fruity, sweet and refreshing wine with hints of ripe cherries, in honor of our co-owner and -founder Len Wiltberger's grandmother Clara, who loved wines with vibrant grape flavor. A great casual wine to relax and rejuvenate!
Pairing ideas: Perfect for pasta, pizza, or wings. Serve chilled.
Serving ideas: Enjoy a chilled glass (or two!) on the deck, make Sangria, or use in a spritzer.
Crooked Lake Red is a smooth, off-dry red wine with rich plum and cherry flavors that dance in your mouth. A particularly low level of tannin in Crooked Lake Red make it a great "introductory" red wine for white wine drinkers looking to broaden their tastes!

Our rich Epic Reserve, crafted from 100% Finger Lakes Cabernet Sauvignon, features ripe berry notes. While fermenting, we "rack and return" the wines -- called délestage in French -- to increase oxygenation and improve extraction of color, flavor and tannin. The result is a wine of distinction and depth, that pairs beautifully with juicy meats like steaks, pork roasts or chops, pasta with white or red sauces, and other hearty dishes. Serve at cool room temperature (60-65 F). Bring a bottle to dinner with friends!
Lemberger is an Austrian grape grown selectively in the Finger Lakes. This wine has an earthy nose with wonderful smooth black cherry and pomegranate tones. Fuller than a Pinot Noir, try our lemberger with pork loin, burgers, and steaks.
A rich, classic Merlot. Dry, smooth, soft, and mellow, with depth and black cherry and plum tones. Enjoy with pasta, red meat, checken cacciatore, and steaks.
Miller’s Cove Red is one of our best-selling and favored wines. Dry, soft, deeply-hued and full-bodied, this blend based on classic Bordeaux varietals is a perfect accompaniment to your winter stew, chili, steak, lasagna, or lamb. Miller's Cove Red has received many Gold Medals and has been awarded Best in Show and Best New York State Red Wine three times.
