2020 ZWEIGELT Traditional Method Sparkling
Brand new wine!
90 pts. & Gold Medal, New York Wine Classic
We are delighted to release our first ever traditional method sparkling wine, and the first and only Traditional Method Zweigelt made in the Finger Lakes region. These grapes were harvested from Harry Humphreys' pristine vineyards on the southwest banks of Seneca Lake. The 2020 harvest produced a stand-out vintage characterized by high-quality fruit across the region by virtue of warmer and drier growing conditions through the season. Sought after for both its ability to express terroir and bring mouth-puckering acidity to wine, Zweigelt also sets itself apart with distinct flavors of rich and complex red fruit. This "Blanc de Noir" style release is the first of many vintages we hope to produce of Traditional Method Zweigelt.
Faint raspberry on the nose lead into fresh biscuit and vanilla. The palate is elegant and lively with some emperor cherry, orange blossom, and grapefruit. Bright and fresh acidity quickly gives way to an elongated mouthfeel with rich and cream bubbles. Beautifully textured and dynamic on the finish.
