This beautiful and distinctive wine is true to its name:  gewürz means spiced or perfumed in German.  Floral on the nose, rich fruit notes on the palate, long, clean, and soft on the finish.  Enjoy this exceptional wine as an aperitif with dried fruits and cheeses, paired with curries, or with spicy sausages and sauerkraut.

  • 91 pts., James Suckling "...you are greeted with aromas of rose, banana leaf and sliced peaches. Medium-bodied and rather concentrated. Intense stone and orange fruit on the palate with a floral edge. Drink now."

Our 2017 vintage was awarded the 2018 Governor's Cup for Best Wine in New York from among 800 entries.

Description of our 2017 Gewurztraminer in The Wine Enthusiast, Best of Year 2018 issue, p. 62:
90 pts.  A fragrant perfume of rose petals, melon, ginger and white pepper spice comes together in the glass.   Succulent in feel, the palate is broad and oily, with supportive acidity and mild astringency maintaining balance.  Flavors of juicy yellow apple, melon and spiced potpourri broaden the midpalate and lead to a delicate jasmine note on the lingering finish. -- A.P.

Restrained, austere, gentle, yet complete. Floral nose but not overpowering, think incredibly subtle, and expensive perfume, from a shop, not a store. Beautiful, gentle transitions throughout, which maintained after an hour of being opened. Only thing lacking from the "Gewurtz' stable is any significant spiciness, in the finish or throughout for that matter. With options jumping from "Pretty Good" to Excellent, a firm Very good...92 pts.
